Scope application- hunting, 300 to 800 yards--mounted on 7mm Rem mag or 6.5 / 284 sheep, deer, antelope and elk. My eyes are aging so I need very good glass and good magnification. budget $800 to $1,800 what do you guys recommend / experiences. Thanks any info helps.

I personally think that the top hunting scopes in that price range are Zeiss, Night Force, and Swarovski.

I really like the Zeiss Conquest for hunting. They have phenominal glass and are at the lower end of your price range. My opinion is that they have better glass than most scopes in your price range.

I also use NF for hunting. I use my mildot scope for deer, because I like the grid set up I get from the reticle.

Good luck

you have a few choices given the price range, 5.5-22 nightforce would be my choice, with npr2 and zero stop. trijicon also makes a nice 5-20 scope that would work. do you want a more tactical or hunting style scope

Very happy with my Leupold VXIII 8.5-25X50 LR. Maybe too much power for hunting, but great for punching paper.

with that price range you definitely have a lot of options. i would set some parameters to narrow down your choice first and work from there. if it were me i would want the clearest scope i could afford in a magnification range around 3-12 or so (4-16 max). i prefer less mag and more field of view while hunting. also, it doesnt have to be a mildot, but i would like some sort of reticle that allowed for hold-over, sometimes you only have a moment to shoot.

with that said i would also buy from a company i trust, as stated above, it would be hard to go wrong with a Zeiss, Swaro, or NF. just my 2 cents. good luck.
