300 Win Mag 208 A-Max load

Anyone use Retumbo for this?

Specs will be Win brass, WLRM primer, 208 A-max at AI mag length or a little less.

Rifle:

700 trued action, Krieger 10 twist 28"

I have Retumbo on hand, but can't find data for it and 208's.

I would use data for 210 VLD grains and work up accordingly. Plan to do the same for my RL22 also. Good luck

I just switched from Rtumbo to H-1000. I found the Retumbo was a good powder for my 300 WM, but was temp sensitive, & always smoked my case necks. I'm getting the same performance with H-1000 without the smoked necks now, & I hope it's not as temp sensitive.
BTW I was using 208 A-Max molly'd with 77.5gr H-Retumbo.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Here is Hornady's load data for the 208gr AMAX in a M700 25" 1/10" Douglas barrel using WLRM primers, Frontier brass, and seating to factory OAL of 3.34"</span>
I presume the powder is listed by efficiency, and also want to note that these are factory length loads, and may be conservative figures.
<span style="font-style: italic">I also don't know if Hornady stopped working up the loads when high pressure signs were evident or when they got desired accuracy.</span>
Seating further out may lower case pressure but getting on the lands may increase it..the regular load workup is still mandatory.
