Hey everyone. I’m looking to purchase a scope for my 300 win mag, my budget is $1500 and im looking at ranges between 850 – 900 yards and ideally im looking for FFP. I did a little looking and saw that Bushnell Elite Tactical HDMR II 3.5-21X50 with the H59 reticle looks pretty good but would like some suggestions. This will be primary used as a range gun however if I ever decide to go hunting that it would fit that bill as well.

I have had good luck with my Steiner Military 3-12x50.
It has a G2B Mil Dot reticle.
I've taken this rifle out to 1 mile on a silhouette target with no issues (other than wind)
Has just enough elevation to get out to the mile mark (17.9mil)
It is a little low on the magnification but all around a good scope.
Sadly these aren't made new anymore but you can pick them up used in good condition for under $1,100.
Still holds Steiner's Warranty too (from what I have heard)

Bushnell LRHS/LRTS.

I have one on my 300wm and its the perfect crossover scope for hunting and shooting LR. Banging steel at 1300 gets boring with it except for $2 per shot. Run them on a few other guns as well they are that good.

The only other scope under 2k I would consider comparable is the AMG. $800 vs $1800.

The last rifle I bought got a VX6 1-6x24, a little light on magnification for what you're looking for, but wow...what a scope. I'd take a look at the VX6 2-12x42, VX5 2-10x42, etc. Lower in price the VX3 2.5-10 x40 is a fine scope as well.
