Looking for the right Holo, Dot with magnifier, or magnified optic. I have the following:
DDm4 300blk 7" barrel.
Head mounted PVS14
Sig Romeo 4 dot with NV settings.
Super cheap magnifier needs replacing.
Vortex 3x prism.
VCOG 1-6 (big and heavy for this gun)
No LPVO

Goal is to have a good SBR for home defence but also truck gun capable of some magnification, even at night. This SBR reliably hits 300yd with magnified optic. Magnification is so I can see the object. The rifle itself is a tack-driver, even with 7" barrel. What I want is the best combo with my PVS14.

Are you able to get a sight picture on the stock wearing the PVS14? I wasn't able to and settled for a laser. Not really a 300 yard solution, but minute of hen house raiding coyote or home burglar in my yard.

Not quite sure what you're asking here. Are these the optics that you currently have, or are they the optics you're looking into getting? Are you looking for an optic that will allow you to take 300 yard shots using your PVS14, or do you just want something magnified for daytime shooting? The PVS-14 can be very picky with magnified optics, your Sig Romeo should be okay in front of your PVS, but I'd recommend the higher mounts or a Unity Tactical riser to get your optic up high for use with the PVS. I think @SkyScrapin and @wigwamitus can likely give you some good advice here.

By the way, I like Sig Romeo and 300BLK ;)

I think you answered my question Bill, thanks. I have a Romeo on it now and I think raising it more will help. I've yet to test it with the Juliet I am ordering. I'm guessing the picture will be crummy behind the PVS14 through the magnifier and it doesn't matter if it's the 3 or 6 power? So, I think I would have to setup a separate upper for magnified night vision or get a clip-on. I have a Peq 15 also but I wanted to have passive NV ability. I'm thinking that practically, I can only really get 1x NV from my helmet mount through the Romeo and that an improvement over that would be a clip-on instead of the helmet mount. Do you agree?

I am a rookie when it comes to NV, that's where Preston or Joe could really help you out with some different thoughts and ideas. Here's the biggest issue with passive aiming with a PVS-14 and any magnified optic (magnifier included), you have to readjust your focus (on the PVS) when looking through the magnified optic which is fine if you have the time, but think of a situation where maybe you're sighting in on a group of pigs (sounder?) at 200 yards so you adjust your NOD focus but then an angry boar comes out of the bushes just 10 yards away so you lift your head up to look around and all you see is blur, by the time you focus that boar just took you out. Well okay, maybe not a common scenario but you get the idea. Mounting your Romeo higher will definitely help when using NODS, it's a bit different from precision shooting where we typically like things lower but higher cheek/chin weld also gives us better situational awareness because you're up off the rifle a bit more.
