I just got my stamp back on a short little .300BO set up. I have two .223 Accurate Mags and a .223 steel MDT magazine and neither one of them feed properly. The shortened overall length of the round is causing problems.

Are there .300BO AICS magazines out there? The only other magazine I know of is the MDT polymer magazine. I would really hate to have done all of this and not be able to find a magazine that works!

thanks

Just dropped a Rem 700 SPS 300 AAC into a Grayboe stock with M5 bottom metal a couple weeks ago and am having similar issues. I have a 5rd Accurate Mag and a steel and polymer 10rd MDT. The polymer MDT has been flawless in testing.

The steel MDT latches just low enough that the bolt will not strip a cartridge from the mag and overrides. I added a couple thin strips of Gorilla tape to each side of the mag which allows tight insertion into the triggerguard and it will feed somewhat reliably in testing though I haven't had a chance to try it at the range yet.

The 5rd mag had nosedive issues. Had to relieve the lip on the front of the plastic insert and bend the spring. When loaded with three dummy cartridges the first two now feed fine but the last cartridge seems to release early and try to jam.

All I can say is -- good luck and if you find a better solution please post it.

Thanks for this.

So the polymer mag runs without any modification?
