Gunsmithing 300rum action for 300wm build?

Wondering if the feed rails will be too wide and not chamber the round properly. And if the bolt face will work. Thanx.

Ok..thinking the bolt face will be fine with minimal ejection problems. Especially if I upgrade to the m16 extractor.

Also the rails outta work..gonna have to do some measuring. Think I could also go short mag and have a ton of room to seat 225g hornady long.

What to build?? I originally was gonna do 338edge. But I have a lapua already, just an ar-30.

I think the win mag might have problems because the rum case is longer and wider. The feed rails on the rum should be cut shorter to allow for the longer case to pop up earlier and they should be cut wider to feed the fatter case through. The short mag works but you will be better off with a mag that feed straight not staggered they pop out to early on factory bottom metal. I have a 7-270wsm and a 300wsm on LA's and I change them to mags because of the feed problem.

Thanks..ill check it out. Its gonna be in a mcmillan a5 with badger m5 dbm.
