I'm thinking about building a AR-10 and was wondering what is the better upper to get? Armalite?

I would like to use the KAC FF RAS rail on it also. Will it fit/work? I heard it will provided you use a AR-10T bbl nut.

What is the best/easist way to fit that rail on a AR-10 upper?

any Pics?

What magazine are you going to use? If you go with an Armalite AR10 upper or a Noveske N6 upper, you'll have to use an Armalite or Eagle lower that uses the modified M14 mags or the new GenerationII Armalite mags. Armalite uppers are not compatible with KAC SR25/DPMS lowers or any of the other 308AR weapons that are coming on the market that use the SR25/DPMS magazines. If you want to go with an Armalite upper, per this thread, http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=886068 an AR10T bbl nut will work with the RAS. Since you live in PA, you can go with either the DPMS or Armalite system and have high cap magazines. NYS doesn't allow the newly manufactured DPMS mags here.

It seems like the DPMS parts are easier to work with and find but then I hear alot of people saying if your going to build a .308 Semi-auto try to get Armalite parts.

Whats the best way to go?

Pick what magazines you want to use first really. This was more of an issue up until recently when Armalite started doing their magazine specials. previously they cost a ton as compared to DPMS/SR25 compatible ones.

There are rumors of Magpul making an Armalite magazine, but they all really just started when a guy on an AR site converted his own out of Magpul DPMS mags.
