.308 upper- complete

Got a good buddy looking to piece together a .308. He's found a good deal on a DPMS LR-308 style lower. Anyone know of some good sources for complete uppers? He's entertaining between 18" and 20" barrel length. Just looking for some places I can send him to look, not really specific build specs. Likely looking for $1000 to be the top end.

Brownell's has DPMS uppers for about $680 with my discount, but he's looking for variety.

Rguns? I hear they are finicky about what is in stock and what isn't; ie some people getting their order in a couple weeks and some people waiting 6 months.

Pick up a factory DPMS LR-308 upper and then tweak from there. They're solid uppers and if nothing else, he's up and running for under $1k.

try rguns. i heard the same thing, make sure its in stock before you pay. also try here in classifieds. and try JSESurplus.com and see if they have complete uppers. there was just a lr308 here for super cheap.
