Joe came to North Texas Rifle Precision requesting reloading instruction and hoped he could shoot a golf ball at 600 yards as he had seen in one of my previous videos. I told him no, he would shoot one at 750 yards. Joe laughed and said he would just be glad if he hit anything past 300 yards.
We got in position this morning and tested his loads. We found his load and zeroed his rifle to it. This took place in between passing rain which Joe does not care for. I would be safe in saying he hates it. However, he stuck with it and it turned into a gorgeous blue sky day.

After the load development I set up steel targets throughout the range. Joe got multiple first round hits on the steel all the way out to the 700 range (due to the rain we had to find a high dry spot which limited the distance to 700 yards) He didn’t think he was ready for the 700 yard golf ball shot. “No problem bro, wait here while I put the golf balls out anyway. You will hit it before we conclude this range session.”
He went through a 10 round AICS magazine and he was just barely missing. He asked me to do it and I hit both after a first round miss. Afterwards, I explained how much easier it is with a .260 and I had less work to do than him. We took a break and regrouped. Joe was previously shooting the left golf ball. He switched to the right one so I missed the first call. Then he nailed it! In the video I describe the golf ball as 1/8th MOA. I think I was dehydrated lol. It is closer to ¼ MOA target.
Watch the third shot and the golf ball shoots to the 9 o’clock position in front of the left tree. It isn’t as clear on YouTube but you can still make it out.
