Can some of you all report the actual velocity lately of the 308win. Federal Gold Medal Match 175's along with barrel length and make (i.e. factory, Krieger, Rock, etc) of what you shot it in?
I am curious how close it is to what is printed on the box for different makes/lengths. Thanks
Brien

I ran them out rock 5r and 22" length . I was chrony. in under -2600 fps , like in area 2580 Vel. .
It Not fast at all, but Hovering just under 2600FPS and 175's fed.GM was a fucking hammer . You were definitely ' Dropping Them in' down range @ 1000 yrd. though, but accurately . That Vel. node is pretty solid .

I have a good load of Shooters world Precision (42.8ish) behind 175smk in Lapua brass at 2580 in a 26" douglas 10" twist. I was practicing some PRS stuff the other day shooting reloaded range pickup hornady brass. I ran the same powder charge in hornady brass but was 2550 (thinner brass I suspect) and shot one of my best groups ever 5 shots @ .180" .. Just got me thinking maybe i need to slow it down a little. I asked about the FGMM 175 velocity because it seems all other 308 ammo is judged off of it. I was going to buy a couple cases of it before the covid bologna hit. now it seems to have gone up a little so i bought a whole bunch of loose 175's.. So many calibers are so much better than the ole 308 but I get great satisfaction running my 308...
Thanks for all the numbers this evening fella's.. I appreciate the info!!!

Did some shooting yesterday with a little experimentation. I weighed my hornady cases vs my lapua cases with lapua weighing 10+/- grs more than hornady. I added roughly half gr powder (it was practice day so i "threw" the powder charges through my Harrels powder measure) to the hornady cases and achieved nearly same velocity. May be useless info to some but that was my informal with out a scientific lab results.. your results may very.. (175smk with 43.2 grs got me 2640 in hornady cases and shot lights out)

That's probably close because I'm at 2589 with a 23" barrel.

@2610 from a Goddard/Rock 1-10 22" and @ 2620 from an Impact/Bartlein 1-10 24", both with brakes.
I'm still shooting older lots in the old boxes, not sure about newer stuff.

does your can affect the temp stability of the load or have an effect while shooting throughout the day of cool in morning/ hot in afternoon more than shooting without?

I have never noticed any effect between temps. I have shot in 50 degrees to 100 recently, between sea level and 700ft with no ill effects. I only shoot suppressed, so no answer for shooting without. I normally don’t shoot factory ammo, unless Im getting initial testing of a new barrel. My chrono numbers above were at 150 rounds on the barrel so its possible that it sped up.

I run a mild charge of 43.2 grains of 4064 with the 168 ELD @ 2750
