Looking to get a 338 can. The SAS and TBAC are top of my list. What do you get for the extra Money for the TBAC? Any other options I should take a hard look at?
I know both of those brands are well liked here but I only have shot a .338 Thundertrap and I will say it works great and is made to handle whatever you put through it .338 and under. I think on a .308 is still better then my SWR .308 can. and I have used it plenty on my .330-408 CT wildcat with very good results.
Good luck PG
I am currently waiting for a SureFire FA338SS. I wanted a can that was QD and had a good compensator mount. I personally have surefire and AAC cans and think that the surefire mounting system has the most repeatable accurate mounting system. It might not be the cheapest can for .300 Win Mags and .338 Lapua Mags but it fits my requirements.
TBAC all the way. You get, Accurate, repeatable, quiet, and light weight with awesome customer service. Can't comment on SAS as I don't have any experience with them.
You might want to look at Lowlights video of shooting a 338 with the SAS...... INDOORS with NO earpro! Just like the rest of the SAS products, super quiet, super repeatable and little to no POI shift. If you ask me its a no brainer, especially when you through in cost!
I am currently awaiting for the papaerwork process to end on my SAS so I can pick it up. I was able to mimic the same test that Lowlight did in the same shop with my 338 and that is one of the reasons I purchased it. SAS cans are pretty quiet on the 308 also.
