Just purchased a DTA SRS in 338 Lapua. What are you guys recommending for a reloading setup (press, die, etc). I currently have a Hornady lock-n-load setup for reloading my 460 S&W revolver but am not sure how well this will work with the 338. I see that they do have die sets for this cartridge....

don't know much about the Hornady system, but I use the rock chucker system for my 338 LM with RCBS dies. works well for me.

rockchucker is pretty solid. I havent used the forester/bonanza co-ax press but I hear good stuff about them. the rockchucker is a little less expensive. the money you save on a rockchucker can go towards the expensive brass

Like others I'm also using the Redding Comp dies; however, for a press I'm using a Redding Ultramag. Not an inexpensive press but if it's all about minimizing cost you probably wouldn't have bought a .338LM.

COAX press, RCBS Gold Medal bushing neck die, Forster ultra micrometer seater. I've been able to produce some very consistent reloads with this set-up.

They should work. You might have to tilt the bullet nose up, into the die, before you can seat the base.

It's a long bullet and a long case.

I use a Rock Chucker press as well. However, my dies are kind of a strange set up. I use a Lee universal decapper, Redding body and separate neck die, Sinclair expander and a Forester micrometer seater.

Yeah, it's a lot of steps but I only use the body die if the bolts gets too tuff. However, after 5 reloadings on the same 25 pieces of brass, I have not had to use the body die yet. The bolt still opens and closes easily.
