338 Lapua

Anyone ever try solid bullets in their 338 lapua? I'm just curious to see if anyone has had any success. Thanks

I tried the Cutting Edge 277 grain .338 solids. I found in my AXMC they did preform well out to about 2000 yards but then there were out preformed by the Berger 300 Hy's. Here is the load DATA i used

AIMX has a 27 inch barrel with 1-9.3 twist
91.2 gr H-1000
215M Primer
Lapua Brass
277 Cutting Edge Bullet
AVG FPS 2833
SD= 14
Start low and work up to max load!!

Tried Lehigh’s years ago. Had no luck with them in that 338 LM. Looking hard at trying them again. Their about the only company that makes a solid for the older or original twist rate 338 LMs. Looking forward to the feed back you will be getting.

I'm working on a load for the Badlands precision 270 super bulldozers in mine right now. So far I started running into pressure at 93.5 gr retumbo, seated at 3.965". It could have been dumb luck (somehow?) but the 5 shots I took looking for pressure signs landed in a 1.25" group at 400 yards, so I'm pretty optimistic that these will shoot well.
