I was spending a little time at our local Sportsmans Warehouse, and was pleased they finally got in two boxes of .338lm. The first box was HSM 250gr, and it was $60 for a box of 10. Yup, just like I thought. Then I saw a box of Hornady 285gr, and saw it was $86! I about had a heart attack-- until I realized it was for 20 rounds.... Although not nearly as bad as I had thought, $6/round and $4.30/round still are a bit much, and give yet another affirmation reloading is the way to go!

Oh, I am reloading. I actually have it down to about $0.67/round, by buying in bulk (bullets, powder and primers). And, the more I use my Lapua cases, the more the price drops as well. I wouldn't own it if I couldn't reload.

It is one great round. I plan on droppimg my next Bison with it. My family has a 375 HH Ackley Improved for the heavy stuff, until I got this 338 Lapua. I have the loading down to sub 1.00 a round. JPG

Im envious my American brothers, able to reload on the cheap.

Even if you buy in bulk in Australia, the price is still considerably higher than what you guys are paying.

And yes, the .338LM is a pricey hobby, but reloading brings the price down and makes it even more fun.
