I took this buck on opening day here in Montana with my GAP .338LM.

Here's what I wrote up on another site....

I took this buck with my GAP Surgeon .338LM. To avoid a schitt storm on hunting ethics, I'll just say he was out there aways.....but I knew I could make the shot, otherwise I would'nt have fired.

For what its worth, the day before the season opened I put 40 rounds through the rifle at steel targets to distances out to 1000 meters to check my range cards and ended the session with a 4",5 shot group at 715 meters.
