My 26 in. bbl 338LM struggles with pressure to get much above 2700 fps with a 300gr. bullet. A 340gr bullet @ 2755 out of the same parent case must be pretty high pressure?
 
Logic would say you are correct. I have had this gunsmith work on some of my rifles but have never personally fired this one .. yet. I looked it over and at some of the fired brass. The rifle is what would be expected, heavy, long and well built. Mike says the weight tames the recoil very well. The fired brass showed no ejector mark and minimal primer flattening, and that visible only at the very edge of the cup where you could see the radius had been deformed. He said there was no tight bolt when I ask about it.

Just thought it was a neat project.
