Hello,

I am going to buy a Cadex Shadow in the .375 Cheytac caliber.
Now they are offering the 7"barrel and my question is:
Could the 350gn SMK be used on it and will them perform good or the 7" Barrel twist is only for solids bullets ones?

Thanks in advance!
Bruno.

Hi,

IMO I would not waste time with 350gr SMK. It is like building a race car and running leaded gas in it.

But to your specific question....The 7 twist for the 350gr SMK or any other jacketed projectile for that matter will run the risk of causing ghost bullets due to spinning jackets off/out of place.

Sincerely,
Theis

Hi guys,

The problem with the Cutting Edge is they are mostly single feed.
I know Brian Litz has one wild cat which can make these bullets fit in the magazines, but I don't want to go custom. I have had bad times ordering customs and since it should be send to Brazil, it will open too much variables.
I want to call a store, send money and get it ASAP.
There is no matches for this caliber here, it will be just shoot for fun and stretching it to 1.800- 2.200 m.

Cheers!
Bruno.

Hi,

Well there is no such thing as ASAP in regards to any item/service controlled under ITAR regulations departing the USA..
ASAP is definitely not in the vocabulary of DDTC examiners.

Sincerely,
Theis
Hi Theis,

First of all, thank you for your patience.

Here is Brazil I need to ask for our army a CII permission which takes 90 days, more 30 days for the USA permission, 45 days more for another brazilian army permission and 120 days to clear another brazilian army permission and customs.
I need to match the CII validity with the rifle manufacturer delivery day, since the CII expiration is too short. If the maker delay 60 days I need to starts from zero again and lost everything which is coming with the rifle ( bullets, brass, presses... )
I have 2 rifles arriving now, one was bought in 2015 and another bought in 2016...

Only when the rifle is in my possession I can ask the army to buy it's caliber and ammo or reloading stuff and all process starts from zero again to bring it. This is why I asked about the SMK 350, they are cheaper and I can buy a lot more bullets so I don't need to handle with all this bureaucracy again for a while.

We use to say here as a shooter we need to find a less complicated hobby, such as being an astronaut.

Could the 10" twist shoot the solids and SMK 350gn well?

Best!
Bruno.
