I just got picked up a 375 Cheytac on a trade and am getting geared up for this big girl. Any one have any recommendations concerning presses that are big enough to handle the Cheytac cases? I currently have the Forster Co-Ax. Would this press accomodate the extra length of the Cheytac cases or would another press be better suited for the task? Thanks in advance for and recommendations.

I am using the RCBS Rock chucker and have had 0 issues so far. What bullet/powder do you think you will be using? Great to see another Utahn giving the 375 A shot. let us know how it goes.

Re: 375 Cheytac Press Recommendations

You can probably use the Forster but with a lot of manuvering that long sucker. I have a Redding Ultramag (along with a Forster) that has a lot of room and a long strong linkage. It also works well for pulling bullets, which is not a Forster strong point.

Re: 375 Cheytac Press Recommendations

The older Rockchucker (II) has a smaller frame opening and shorter ram travel than the newer presses designed to handle long magnums. You should certainly give it a try, at least to give you an idea of what is needed.

The Co-Ax would be nicely complemented by an UltraMag.

Also, you may be able to get your name assigned to and actually get a Corbin csp-2 press much faster than obtaining a Walnut Hill or Hollywood. I'm in the same boat as the op and have recently talked with Dave Corbin who indicated he was sending out a run of presses for powder coating and expected shipping completed presses in about 30 days or so. The Corbin and Walnut Hill will swage which was sort of the deciding factor for me.

Re: 375 Cheytac Press Recommendations

I have a cheap Lee press. I tis their big model and has the removable interchageable thread so you can go with the standard (7/8 X 14?) or remove that one and use standard Chey Tac dies.

It could stand to be 1/2" deeper throat but not bad, very cheap (like $75 bucks) and readily available. Also has a good leverage system so I have no problem full length resizing my .375 CT brass.

I will probably be using Retumbo or r25 with the 350 SMK's. Thanks for the recommendations.

Thats what I used and it works fine just have to take out the bushing. mine was 30 years old and it came right out.

Here we have a problem with denominating an article by describing it as old. The RC IV is current production and is a larger-framed press than the earlier ones. Its predecessor was the RC II and is generally identified as being old. Of course, the RC II's predecessor is even older.

Uhh yup that would be bigger. How much powder did you run in that load? 4, 5, 6, hundred?
