Night Vision 3M Helmet experience?

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about 3M helmets?
I’ve been looking for a stable mount for a PVS14, counter weight, and helmet mounted ir illuminator. I know the usual suspects but I’m trying to be a little thrifty. And the Gentex TBH, HHV, ops core, etc don’t seem to be able to accommodate my giant gourd. I wear 7 3/4 to 7 7/8 hat size. unless I buy the higher priced lines of ballistic helmets.

I’d like to temper that spending a bit. I found these 3M buckets that look promising. And after a call to optics planet it sounds like an XL could work. I did a search and found very little info.

Does anyone have any experience with these? All they could tell me about that shroud is its “standard universal.” I’m investing in a G24 Mount and arm adapter. Is that shroud worth getting or is it a “throw away?” Is it a Norotos?

I haven’t been able to locate sizing info for ACh helmets I really trust. And not many larger sizes.

im also ordering a Crye nightcap to try. But would like a helmet also.

the size is the biggest thing that gives me pause. And are there any vendors for 3M you would recommend? I already have a Black Friday coupon for OP. It’s not great.

Op indicated it’s in stock. But they have a le/govt/qualified purchaser warning. I’m not sure if I’m qualified per their requirements. Only one way to find out I guess. Bots have had no warning.
The full kit, rails, shroud, bunnies, etc seems like a good deal with 12% off.

So, minor update. I decided to skip the 3M lids for now. The ops core sizing seems safer to me if I order an xxl. I went and tried on my bike helmets for a size comparison. And I really squeeze into the top end of my 63cm aero helmets. Optics planet carries a warning of gov and Leo only sales for the 3M ulw. Botach has them but likely a long lead time and no feedback.

read a ton of reviews on the night cap and it seems a lot of larger domed people have trouble With that too.

Most sites list a 12 day lead time for ops core, But that’s probably optimistic as well?

im the meantime. I found a second hand TW Exfil LTP size 2.0 in almost new condition. Am waiting for it to arrive. I had erased TW from consideration. For much the same reason I don’t shop at Walmart or Dicks... so I threw up in my mouth a bit. But at least it’s the second hand market.

I do have to say. For the price it’s a great deal, even at new pricing for a practically turn key solution with good shroud and suspension. Too bad they sh!t the bed.
