Spent the last year gathering some information and parts for a repro #4 MK1 T.

Picked up a re-arseneled canadian #4 MK1 with new wood

Ordered a set of original spec mounting pads from Bisley Ltd in England $150

Roger Payne in England makes original spec repro mounts and after 8 months got one. $320

Looks like no one will touch the repro pads and mounts sold in the US as specs are over the map and super hard to get aligned correctly.

Cheekpiece was found. $25

Guy in Canada named Warren reworks original 32s and the reproduction ones. He had a reworked 32 repro set aside so just got it. $550

All went to Dow Arms in Dade City FL and hopefully back soon.

Will get some pics up when it gets back.

I have a super nice ex sniper 91/30 PEM side mount rifle and a Ukranian repro PEM scope as the next project. Probably go to Dow again. Doubt I can find an original side mount for under $1000 so looks like an Accumounts repro will have to do.

Also have a nice all matching ex sniper PU setting in the safe that a friend wants.

Sounds like a phenomenal repro build in the works! I have always liked/admired the lines of the No.4 Mk1 T rifles...can't wait to see the finished project once you have her back in hand!

bountyhunter - great project! Looking forward to see how it unfolds....

Maybe I'm biased being a Brit....but the 303 Enfields are a real joy to shoot! You'll love it.

And Roger's scope brackets really are a work of art! Capt. Laidler once told me they used them to replace knackered originals on the L42 when they were still in service.

Just make sure that you (or your smith) takes the time to correctly align the scope/pads/bracket with the bore. This will make (or break) the end result. My smith says the Enfield is the hardest of all WW2 precision rifles to replicate because of this. If you need help Paul's notes on the build he did for me may help:

http://www.thamesvalleyguns.co.uk/ (Armourer's Notes to left side of home page, second on the list)

Also get a read of Peter Laidler's "No4T, An Armourer's Perspective", lots of good info on how these rifles were converted here.

Just to keep you motivated...
