I have a 40XB HB rimfire barreled action that I put it a McMillan A2 700SA stock using BDL bottom metal (with spring and follower removed) and action screws.

Action seems secure in the stock, but the barrel is very off-center to the left in the barrel channel. It doesn't look like it's touching the stock. Is this a problem? I have tried retightening the screws, but it ends up in the same position.

Of course, there is one more option. You could send it too me for an 'unlimited inspection period', then you wouldn't have to worry about the technical stuff.

If your bbl is true to your action, the recoil lug is most likely not seated properly against its bedding shoulder. Additionally, the action is probably not sitting 'stress free', in its bed, either.
Sounds too me, like a bedding job is in order. I would do that before I even shot it.
