First post so Hi,

Need the last parts to finish a build and was looking into the 419 brakes and i'm stuck in-between the sidewinder and hellfire. Would the sidewinder be worth the extra price and size? I would imagine it would be better for spotting impacts and follow ups. This rifle will only ever really go as far as 1k yards. Anybody have any experience?

Also looking for a decent adjustable gas block if i run into reliability problems. Was looking at the SLR and JP options in .936 but this is my first big boi gas gun so i'm not too sure.

Thanks!

I have the Sidewinders on my big magnums. I think it would be too large for your application. The JP brake works well on the AR platforms and is a bit smaller.

I’ve used the SLR and JP adjustable blocks and I really prefer the SLR model with the positive “click” adjustments. Easy to tune and repeatable.

Thats what I was thinking, but I had a few people recommend the sidewinder to me for .308. I guess it could be practical if i wanted to buy a 300 win mag rifle in the future.

I guess my main concern is if I would be losing out if i purchased the hellfire instead and lost some, i guess, "value" in that $30.

Will look into both gbs a bit more, but the slr sites SKUs are kinda confusing me.

I believe this one is what you’re needing. When in doubt, pick up the phone and call them. I’m sure they’d be happy to assist.

From past experience, the 419 crew is very helpful and responsive with email. The sidewinder system is very nice, if you don’t mind the size of it for your application. Personal preference is the enemy of frugality. There are a lot of really similar products in this game and you’ll end up with several that do the same thing. It makes this hobby fun.
