I have acquired a couple of hand-loads that I cannot find information on.
all are .45 auto cal.
I need an opinion if these are safe to fire or do I pull the rounds and adjust the charge to be safe in my colt series 80.

#1 200 gr lead wad-cutter with 7 grains of 800 x powder

#2 155 gr. lead wad-cutter with 6.7 grains of AA 2 powder

#3 185 gr. lead wad-cutter with 8.0 grains of AA 2 powder

These were done by a reputable person, he is not available for comment on the loads.
any insight is appreciated.
thanks

Re: .45 reload help please

You should do yourself a big favor, and invest in a reloading manual. Since it looks like you are planning on using lead bullets, I reccomend the Lyman manual.

Re: .45 reload help please

ordered the lyman manual, should be here in a couple of days. Interest here is do I pull the lead and salvage the primed cases. or use these for practice at the range and load the cases after.
the standard loads I can find. concern here is pressures.
New to reloading, would like my career to last more than 1 day.
thanks

Re: .45 reload help please

I missed one, go here and download their manual.

6.8 of #2 with a 155 swc is max
5.5 of #2 with a 185 swc is max
7 grains of 800x sounds high but the website is down right now and not directing
to the load manual. I would pull them all based on the hot 185 grain load. Just
checked my manual 7.9 is max load for the 800x in the old manual and 8.3 in
the new manual.
