This probably belongs in the Optics section, but I wanted to single out responses from the rimfire guys. I'm in the market for a CZ 455 (sku: 021113). The gun will be used for hunting small game at 100 yards or less. I want it to be a lighweight, handy rifle I can use for multipositional shooting. I'll buy a DIP 25 MOA rail, but I can't decide on optics. I've toyed with the idea of a red dot or 3-gun scope (1-4x) and can't make up my mind. Whatever it is, it has to be compact. Let's limit suggestions to $600. Thanks in advance

if you are only shooting out to 100yd, dont think you will need a 25moa base
as far as scopes go hard to beat a 3x9 for hunting, or for 22 rimfire a
2x7,
i have used a 4x, but find i sometimes like the higher power of 7x or 9x
to make a longer head shot on ol tree rat,
leupold, nikon, weaver, all make great 22 rimfire scope, the sky is the limit here, go to a locale gun shop,(not big box shop),look throught a few
different brands ask clerk questions, about what you are looking for,
if they know what they should to be behind to counter, they will point in the right direction

For brush hunting, the wife's setup.
Marlin 60 SS with a 1 inch 1x red dot.
Out to 25 yards she can hit whatever she can see.
Beyond 25 yards you can't see anything anyhow.

Squirrels, rabbits have no chance at all.
Fast acquisition and squeeze, no focusing, no parallax.

Unless someone has any objections/bad experiences, I'm going to get a Leupold 2-7x28 since I can get it for a nice discount.
