A friend of mine has a conversion for his M&P .45 on the way and I was wondering if anyone here had experience with this round. The claims and stats given on the website seem like a dramatic upgrade over the .45 and all with a 1/16" longer case. The kit comes with. Barrel, guide rod, spring and 100 cases.

Re: .460 Rowland

It is very snappy, I turned my Springer 1911 45, into a 460. Makes a nice hog gun. It will also run 45acp ammo just fine, and with the heavy spring, there is hardly any recall. I know nothing about the XD conversion though.

pwc, Is that safe? What do you do about the headspace with the .45apc round, the case is 1/16" shorter. The case is supposed to headspace off of the mouth rim of the cartridge.

Be carefull and thanks for the feedback.

Just for clarification, it talkes about the successful use of 45acp in the 460 Rowland on there homepage. So I fugure similar to using 40s&w in a 10mm, it uses the extracter for "headspacing".

Sorry, I should have clearified, it does headspace off of the extractor, but that is not a big deal to me. This is not a gun I shoot a lot.
