caveat: if this topic has been covered and you have a link available to share i would be much obliged.
as the title suggests, i am searching for opinions on 4x or 6x fixed power scopes that have a tactical reticle and preferable illuminated. i would like to stay on the more conservative side with cost on this scope. i agree with the buy once cry once motto i hear echoed on almost a daily basis here but this is a small nitch type setup i find it difficult with my limited budget to justify something over say 400 dollars.
the intended purpose will only be subsonic .338 300 grain pills and will only shoot to maximum of about 150 yards.
ideally i would like to have a reticle as close to a vortex pst erb-1 mrad or nightforce np-r2 or sightron moa-2. i concede this is impossible with my other criteria i outlined but the more precious i can get from reticle the better.
i have a concern that may not be founded but i will ask anyway; most of these scopes appear to be shorter in length than what is traditionally used on bolt action rifle. should i be concerned about eye relief? the eye relief seems to be higher to possible offset my possible concern. any insight on this?
i have been searching midway and this has my eye right now; http://www.midwayusa.com/product/674361/...t-reticle-matte
