Rifle Scopes 5-20x44 vs 6-24x50

Hows it goin guys. I ordered my savage flcp-k in .308 today. Have done some research and i see people seem to be quite happy with the nikon monarch 3. I see the 5-20x44 and a 6-24x50. I was leanibg towards the 6-24 but wondered if it was necessary. The later is $120 more which isnt a big deal. Will see a bit of target shooting and possibly some coyotes and deer from 100-300 yards but would to maybe try 600+ sometime

Well I picked it up yesterday, anybody ? Just looking for input. Do you think 6-24 is too much ?

if 100-300 is pretty much all you're going to do, then I would just stick with 5-20x44. That will be plenty even shooting out to 600 like you mentioned.
