Yes. But were never destroyed and subjugated like say Nazi Germany or Japan.
They just kinda said screw this and left.
My point is that, the Union Jack should "outrage the world" the way the Stars and Bars do.....but do not because 95% of people are clueless about history.

This reminders me of the stories about countries in Africa that had been settled by various European peoples, tamed, farmed, economically grown, etc…….that collapsed when all the land was given back to the locals who returned it to the their bush glory days where it remains now.
