Finally bit the bullet and got equipped with a PVS-14 and a few other goodies from Victor@TNVC, and I have been blown away by the advantage it gives over ferrel hogs.
A group was rooting up my wheat tonight, and I was able to walk up to approx. 30yds before I engaged them. I was downwind and they never knew what hit them....needless to say, right now I'm happy with the Night Vision investment.
5 pigs in less than 5 seconds!

I've got a civilian legal Laser Devices DBAL on order, but right now I've got a (poor man's) IR laser. It's a laserlyte K15 with photo film filter over the head.....believe it or not it works great!

Relentless, I'm running a 6.8SPC, with 110gn Vmax projos, and benchmark powder. Very good performance!
The optic is an Eotech 556, IMHO a non magnified optic has outperformed a magnified optic when engaging multiple moving targets.....
Anyways, this is what works for me,
It wasn't my intention to brag or boast, just really excited about the successful night.
    Thanks guys!

Nice hogs but no picture is complete without a bulldog staring down the hogs... I'm definitely gonna have to try out the 110gr vmax when I get my 6.8.

You can, check your local laws. Tbe illuminator in conjunction with a NV device is subjective.

You can have passive only N/V scopes (no I/R), but in California, you cannot use any type of N/V for hunting. Section 2005 (c) F&G code.
