Hopefully that thing will tighten up a little bit once you've shot it some more ;)
Beautiful rifle. I think that's the first "tactical" stock I've seen made out of Maple. You'd pay a custom painter a fortune trying to replicate the look of that wood.

What's your intended purpose for it? Hunting? mostly range?

Well I built the twin to this one last year in a 30-378 weatherby thats been fun to table shoot and hunt from a shooting house. So I'm probably going to shoot this one the same way with some yotes - PD- Whitetails - and Steel.

The Maple stock was a piece of wood that was avail from another build that never was picked up so since Dixie Guns custom makes all their stocks he could make it in whatever I needed.

I've really enjoyed this custom thing - just not sure where it ends?

Heres the 30-378

The "custom thing" ends with us sitting alone in our once marital home, talking to the dog, surrounded by a pile of really cool shit while reviewing bankruptcy and divorce paperwork. Followed by leaving planet Earth in the rearview mirror and going to some 3rd World shithole as a security contractor in order to pay for even more cool shit since we no longer have a wife to complain about how much the "custom thing" is costing.

Oh wait, maybe that's just me

Nice gun, and nice shooting!

That may be the most honest thing I've ever read on this forum... lol.

Don't worry, there is hope:

My ex and current were/are both gun-cooperative women, but not enthusiasts per say. I went through the divorce thing once, and have since found a woman who is VERY supportive of my hobbies. It occurred to me the other day that she may have actually bought me more gun stuff (value wise) than I've ever bought for myself... this came up in a conversation where she was (smartly) suggesting that we start socking more money away for other important life purchases we're eyeing (like some land). Anyway, it was at that point that I turned it around on her and said: "honey, you do realize that you've spent more on guns in your lifetime than I have in my lifetime?"

(Of course, after saying that I ran away quickly, protecting the back of my head as if someone was going to throw a hand grenade towards me).
