Is it legal to ship .50 BMG components to California. I am selling some brass and the buyer is from Cali. I sure don't want to get myself in trouble. Thanks
You can sell components like brass, bullets, primers, powder, and loaded ammo to Kalifornia no problem. I buy them all the time. Your only restriction is powder and primers have to have hazmat and you should not ship incendiary, or tracer ammo.
All .50 BMG rifles (anything that shoots the .50 BMG round) of any kind are considered assault weapons on or after Jan 1 2005. No matter what. If you got it before then you could have registered it. If you didn't it is illegal. If you bought it after that date unless you have some form of LE waiver (yah right like that will happen) it is illegal. All the components other than a receiver is completely legal to possess, sell, trade etc.

See... that proves that assault weapons bans reduce crime! Because think back on all of the crimes that were committed with 50BMG guns in Kali prior to 1 Jan 2005.

[ducking and running for cover] </div></div>
haha!! your so correct. i remember when they were going to ban 50BMG. i thought about building one, but it was way too expensive. what a wasteful law.
The antagonist I am I would buy a .408CT. Better ballistics, performance and accuracy than the .50bmg. Nothing like throwing the sour grapes at the legislature.
