Looking for details as to recommended equipment
as well as where to purchase good brass/etc.

I am using a RCBS Ammomaster.
A lot of people have complained about how long it takes to prep cases and such but it isn't bad if you aren't doing massive bulk quantities.
I bought a neck sizer die which is great for me since I am only loading the brass from ammunition that I shot.

You will need:
file
scale
primer pocket and neck deburring tool
projectiles, powder and primers
some good calipers
and that should get you off the ground if you get the ammomaster 50bmg kit
case lube!

You can buy surplus bulk powders from Patts reloading among many others as well as powder and primers. Ensure you buy "sized" projectiles unless you plan to size them yourself which requires some additional equipment.

I'm sure if I missed something that someone will chime in.

I have the rcbs on its way right now.

Hornady makes a pretty good measure for throwing those big powder charges that you might want to look into.

You are going to need a trimmer as well and something to kill the primer pocket crimp.

Do look into sizing your projectiles if you can. It will save you some cash if you are just shooting for fun.

K&M precision has some really good tools. I use the Wilson case trimmer.

Definately get the Pacific powder measure made for throwing the large charges required for the 50 BMG.

for starters what rifle are you reloading for, or more specifically what chamber?
how much shooting do you plan on doing, any plans for match shooting?
how much money and or time do you plan on tieing up into this project?
do you currently reload or any sub-calibers?

1+ great site. I have the RCBS Ammo Master II. If you are loading surplus projos, would strongly recommend and bullet resizer. Will need also a bullet puller. I use the Wilson trimmer kit. It works okay for me. Would also strongly recommend neck turning. If there is one caliber that needs neck turning, the 50 BMG would be it.

The CH4D collet bullet puller is the best puller I have ever used. Will even pull military sealed projos.

mark avaikien (think thats how its spelled) aka jet doc is one of the countrys top bmg shooters
he wrote a great artile in the the last issue of FCSA's Very High Power on all the step it takes to make top quality ammo
worth reading if you can get your hands on it

He is a sharp cookie. Have talked with him for years on FCSA forum. As said before join the FCSA.

Ditto on joining the FCSA. The members' forum doesn't see a lot of traffic, but there's a great bunch of helpful people there. For reloading: you can do just fine with the Lee kit. I prefer the Wilson for trimming and pocket crimp removal. A 33/64" 5C collet and block will do wonders as a bullet puller. The Lee .510 bullet sizing die can be a very useful addition as well, if you're shooting milsurp projectiles. These are just off the top of my head. YMMV.

I have had great success with CH4D primer pocket tool. He does not advertise it on his site so you have to call and ask for it.
