loading a bunch of 223s for my AR, I check weight on my powder every 7 bullets or so,I also weight the complete bullet after it's done just making sure no mistakes, normally it's
175. To 177 I'm checking I get a weight 189.5 I pull the bullet apart perfect powder weight bullet 55grain but I find out the brass is a 5.56 the brass for a 223 is 95. The 556 is 108.5 I load 223 specks I realized the 556 has more pressure didn't realize the brass was alot heavier. Shouldn't be any problems shooting right. I'll take any replies.

Obviously you are using mixed brass which I have not done in a very long time.

Weighing complete rounds is a waste of time.

As far as powder charge goes, if you shoot mixed brass you probably should load to the lowest common denominator.

It's not so much the weight of the brass, but rather the vastly different case capacity from case to case that you need to worry about.

Yep the 556 fits ok in all my ARs I load everything like a 223 less powder keeping it at 3000 fps never had a problem 24.5 grains of powder puts me right at 3000fps that's were I'll stay

I do the same. My 55 and 62 gr blaster ammo is pretty run of the mill, midrange powder charge type stuff, all in mixed commercial brass. Its simply a good enough solution for the problem it solves. I set aside LC brass for much higher charged stuff with 69 and 77 grain bullets so I can have some level of consistency there even if LC isnt perfectly the same from year to year.
