Anyone use this bullet with success (or failure)? Was thinking about using it for an upcoming Coues deer hunt in AZ - since these shoot so well in my DT SRSA1.
I shot 3 with my 6.5x47. It worked out perfect for 2 of them. The 3rd got away from me, although I feel certain I made a good shot. The weather was bad and we lost blood after about 400 yards. Wasn’t sure what the consensus around here was. I guess it can happen with any bullet, but I was disappointed.
Kills shots - 20 yards and 200 yards
MIA shot - 120 yards.
No rhyme or reason I could come up with for the bullet not acting right. Nice size doe, broadside shot, propped on my atlas bipod. No way to pull the shot.
Good luck on your up coming “Grey Ghost” hunt. They are a squirrely quarry. I hope you have broken in hiking boots and good glass. All but one I have taken have been between 200 and 500yds. They are a very small deer. One does not need a big heavy bullet to put them down, just good shot placement. Then again that is always the case.
