6.5-280 rem improved 40 load

I should say I have no experience with this round, but the 280 was based on the 30-06 and there's a 6.5-06.

Your going to gain a little powder capacity with it being an improved case.

If you can, see if you can find someone with Quick load and ask of they can help.

I found a thread on it on another forum.

Also here is a smith that males a lot of these rifles, might give him a call, it'll be more solid then anything else.

I'd use 6.5 Rem mag data up to the point you have pressure.
With your more generous magazine box your loads with 140's will be able to outperform the 6.5 RM by a fair margin.
Your case capacity is almost identical (72 grains) the the 6.5SAUM/4S that the forum is buzzing about.
You should be able to duplicate those ballistics without issue.
I shoot a wildcat that's halfway between your case and the 4S and with a 30" tube have pushed 140's over 3300.
The load I shoot is 3150 with H-1000.
PM me if you need 6.5RM data.

I'd start at 50 grains of Hybrid 100V with a 140.
Then again I have a Quickload and several manuals to reference.
I would highly recommend buying Quickload as it give you a scientific approach with predicted chamber PSI's instead of the anecdotal and often inaccurate data found in reloading manuals.
