Range Report 6.5 cartridge advice

Looking for a 6.5 cartridge that would safely and accurately launch a 123gr bullet 3000-3100fps from an 18.5” barrel.

Barrel life isn’t a huge issue-would be using it as a hunting rifle so minimal use.

Can be a long action/magnum, but the smaller the better... Was thinking maybe a 6.5x284 would do the trick?

It most certainly will. I have no first hand experience with the 6.5PRC but it's ability to fit in a short action is a huge plus.

mag length/COAL shouldnt be much of an issue with the 123
