6.5 Creedmoor three way trimmers other than Giraud?

I’ve done a fair amount of research and read a lot of mixed bag reviews of all the three way trimmers for the 6.5.

I usually load 200-300 rounds a month of 6.5 CM, and it’s by far my highest volume caliber.

I’m using Lapua brass and often times it doesn’t really need much of a trim in length. Ideally whatever tool I would use could chamfer and deburr even without much of a trim in length.

Looking at speeding things up a bit in terms of chamfer/deburr. Using the Lyman case prep center to do my trim/chamfer/deburr. If I had one tool that did it all well in one step that would help.

So I know the Giraud is the best, but it’s a little too pricey to justify a small time save for the volume I do.

Any suggestions, or are the other options just not with it?

Even with the Giraud, if there's no trimming, there's no chamferring or deburring. I ended up purchasing a Lyman prep station just to chamfer & deburr those the Giraud miss.

The Giraud is worth every nickle.

That kind of answers it for me. It’s almost 50/50 to not have to trim my Lapua brass after firing. If it won’t chamfer and deburr without the need to trim, kind of makes sense just to stick with the Lyman prep center.

My giraud will still hit the high spots with a bit of chamfer and clean any burrs up. Might not clean the whole neck each time but it only takes 2 second to push a case in and see.

That said its expensive and the trimit2 mounted ina drill should accomplish what you want. Its just as much of a pain to set up initially as a giraud but like a giraud once its set up its good to go from them on.

Look into the trim-it2 same cutter assembly I heard and easy adjustment I am very happy with it but any 3 way cutter will not chamfer or debur without some cutting I’m not sure what you mean by that but I chamferred and deburred all my virgin Lapua with it I just take a .001-.002 pass whatever will put the full chamfer on the shortest cases you don’t have to take .01 off for it to put the profile of the cutter on the mouth now I just chase the cases at the same setting after each sizing to make sure it’s smooth sailing when seating bullets

Ill try to get a pic later tonight of what I mean and update this post. Doesnt take any of the length off at this point, my brass has almost stopped growing any appreciable amount it seems, but the cutter will still scrape some sooty sections on the chamfer clean and shiny. Not the entire way around, just the high spots.

Tough as heck to get a pic of something this small. Didn’t give a full chamfer and didn’t take any measureabke length off but still knocked some spots off. If it grows enough it will give a full chamfer and deburr along with taking the length off. Otherwise it just pops the high spots.

My Peterson brass shrank after the initial firing and has hardly grown since. 10 reloads going now. The Lyman does a really nice chamfer.

223 brass with 75 ELDMs (untouched by the Girauld) were leaving shavings on the press before the Lyman.

After chamfering on the Lyman none.
