Had a GAP10 G2 in 260and if I did it all over I would have done 6.5cm or 6cm. Similar performance to 260 but more mag length compliant.
I now have a Mega MKM in 6.5cm with a JP barrel and +2 gas. If doing 6.5 or 260, do the +2 gas, especially if running a can.
I have a GAP-10 in 6.5 CM and I could not be happier with it. It is an an absolute HAMMER. I have shot MANY sub .5 MOA groups with it and Hornady 140 and 147 ELD-M ammo. I’m running a 22” barrel and a S&B 3-20 PMII scope. I have taken this combo out to 1600yds and had decent success. At 1200yds, it’s an absolute blast. I have had a few 1000 yd cold bore hits at 1000yds (if I call wind perfect), the rifle will absolutely do it.
Hard to say which I like more between my GAP-10 and my bolt gun. Mine is the newer Gen II built on a Seekins Receiver set.
I have no time at all on a Les Baer. While I do not doubt that Les builds an amazing gasser, I simply have not come across one. I have 2 buddies that shoot Larue’s. One a .260, one in a .308. Both are also hammers. One of those same buddies is a KAC fan. He has several KAC rifles. While they are fantastic guns, I would put them more in the role of a SHTF Battle Rifle, where the Larue and GAP-10’s are more “Precision Rifles”. That’s not to say the KAC can’t get it done, it’s fantastic, but it’s a 1-1.5 MOA Gun. The GAP and Larues are very easily sub minute, sometimes.5 MOA.
Another option to consider is the Seekins 6.5CM rifle. Not sure the difference between what George does with the GAP vs what Glen is doing with his rifles, but it might be worth a look.
I’m extremely happy with mine, and it won’t be going anywhere soon.

Can you elaborate? I have read very good reports on the .260 Remington during Army testing in a large gas platform. On the other hand, the 6.5 CM had numerous ammo issues, and had to have a great deal of tuning between gas port size, ammo load parameters and buffer weight. I am reading and observing from a distance, but the 6.5 CM seems to be a very finicky round in a direct impingement setup, while superb in a bolt gun.
That has nothing to do with the round and everything to do with the individual rifle/barrel. Probably incorrect gas port size.
The reason 6.5 CM is preferred in a gas gun is because it's slightly shorter and better able to fit an AR mag.
The slightly higher velocity of the .260 is mute in a gas gun where velocities tend to not be as high as those in a bolt gun.
