After some research I ended up trading my POF P308 for a rifle chambered in 6.5 as it seems to me that it can perform the same, if not better in a lighter package.
Here are my requirements oh wise wizards of Snipers Hide
• May not be using it past 600m, but would still like the ability to use it past that (the whole have it and not need it mindset).
• I would like clarity at range
• It's a 16" barrel
I am fairly new to anything outside of a red dot and the only optic I've used other than that is a 3x ACOG on an M4. I don't want to skimp on glass as this will be my rifle that does it all and I tend to just want the best of things anyway, so the LPVOs I've narrowed it down to thus far are the Trijicon Accupower 1-8x28, eotech vudu 1-8x24, and what appears to be the best of all options (and most expensive) the Vortex Razor HD Gen 3 1-10x24.
I'm not new to shooting, but I am new to the caliber and just want an optic that will help me make the most of the caliber. I know there are less expensive options from many other brands, but in the last few days of looking into what's out there it seems like the ones I listed may be the best. Definitely leaning towards the Vortex, but the price is what's making me want to look into other options. If I could find one on sale, used, etc for $1500 or somewhere close I would probably snag that in a heartbeat but I still want the opinion of people who know more than me.
