Anyone using it with a 123g bullet. I worked from 28-31.9. The first load I tried was 29.2 but it was only 2350. So I worked 30-30.8 then 31-31.9. I decided to try anther load 31.3 which is about 2450 in my 18" barrel. 31.9 was 2500. Anyone else worked with mp501 in the grendel? I figured I would run this 50 peices of brass a couple time on 31.3 and see how it holds up. I was hoping to get in the 2520-2550 range.

I got about 2450 with 8208 but the case heads look better with this powder even at 2500.

The primers still seat snugly in the 31.9 cases. All 50 peices are sized tumbling waiting for prep. Maybe I will work up to 32.5 or 33 and see where I end up. Velocity vs charge weight was pretty close to book numbers for LVR in my 6 arc. I am waiting for PV to ship my LVR.

Thought I would share (brag) a bit about this in the reloading section. You might not believe it but it is true. My wife’s father (who was my reloading mentor) didn’t believe me either. He said there was something wrong with my chrono so he put his magnetospeed on my barrel and my chrono up and it reached 3004 fps multiple shots.

This was from my bear creek arsenal 6.5 G upper. 6.5 Grendel, 20" Black Nitride Heavy Barrel, 1:8 Twist, Rifle Length Gas System the bullet is a 95 gr Hornady vmax

I have NO idea how all you guys get these HIGH velocities with 123 grain bullets. I've tried about 8 different powders and the best I can get is about 2450 and that is with 3 different uppers. The groups I get aren't worth a crap either. The best WAS 13/16 but that was with VARGET and only 2350 FPS.
I GAVE UP on the 123 bullets. Got some 108 LUpua Scenar bullets and used TAC powder. Got the "recipe" from a Dianne over at the 65 grendel site and finally got a dime sized group for 5 rounds. However, the speed is only 2450 approx.
We must have a lot of fairy tale type shooters in the grendel group is all I can say. I've been loading for 40 years and used to do the Palma matches so I'm not a rookie at this stuff.

did you try H335 ?

H335 is faster than 8208. It's good for light bullets but not the best for 123s. Hodgdon puts 95 vmax at 50k psi at 2800fps our of a 24" barrel with h335. I shot some wc844 with 107 smk and it shot well. LVR still boasting the highest velocities with the 95g bullets.

I will test that but not today. my gun does like the 120 ELDM with h335
