    Stocking up on brass for our new 6.5.
    Initially bought 100 rounds of Hornady loaded ammo, on sale at around $17 which was a good deal. Good ammo, got some rounds down the tube while waiting for dies and bullets, and natch good brass for reloads.

    Need more brass, not willing to splurge for the Lapua, and Hornady is about .65 ea.
    Wolf Gold loaded ammo is pennies more than the Hornady brass alone at .70 round. I've had no issues with the Prvi brass (supposedly Wolf uses it) in other calibers- and I've read good and bad on the Wolf ammo performance.

    Is it worth buying the Wolf to get some "free" ammo instead of just buying brass? And- if Prvi provides this brass to Wolf, why can't I find it for sale?

    Doesn't Alexander Arms still have the best price on Lapua brass. A month or two ago I think I bought some directly from them for $62 or something like that.

    The Wolf brass for the 6.5 Grendel is pretty marginal. It is so thin if you full length size with a standard die (i.e., with out neck size bushing), the bullet just drops into the case. Even if you do neck size to squeeze it in, you'll probably get maybe 2 reloads. Much better off buying Hornady or better yet Lapua brass. You really get what you pay for.

    @David777:
    Thanks. I kinda figured there might be a significant enough difference in the brass quality. Might even splurge and go for the Lapua...
