Looking at doing a 18 or 19 in short action magnum rifle. I'm wanting to use the 140 gr hornady bthp bullets or maybe even the 143s. What round will give me the most amount of speed and performance out of a barrel that short.

Hey maybe someone in this thread can point me in the right direction. I recently built a 22” 6.5 SAUM. Took it to the range today for the first time. the thing is a tack driver, BUT Using Bertram brass at 60gr. Of H1000 I’m only pushing a 130gr Berger at 2800 FPS this seems slow. (No pressure yet) Any advice? I am running 210M primers would 215M make a big difference? That’s the first thing I’m going to change.
@Mallardmilitia I am using 63.0 H1000 with Berger 130 VLD in my SAUM, using Rem brass and Tula LRM primer. I’ve not messed with Bertram brass but you should have some room to go up. Also, my Bartlein barrel was slow until I hit about 120 rounds, then it jumped.
