Well i’m New here, but have been reading the forums for some time.
Just wanted to describe the accuracy i’m Getting with my 6.5 PRC, and see how it compares to other folks results with the cartridge.
I started with a 300 win mag that I was ready to put a new barrel on, and became intrigued with the 6.5 PRC as it would fit the mag bolt face.
To date I have about 150 rounds down the tube trying to find what bullet and powder combination it would like. By the way it is a Shelin match grade 1/8.
The only thing it likes so far in the Sierra 142 gr. Match King, with IMR4895, Bertram Brass, and win. Mag rifle primers. With this combination at 2940 FPS, I am getting 5 shot groups of 1 inch to 1 1/2inch at 320 yards, shooting off a bench as if I get down to shoot prone, I can hardly get back up, getting old sucks.
It will shoot the Sierra 140 Game King almost as good with the same loading.
As I have a long action I can put the bullet out to the lands or any where off the lands. I am currently about 0.008 off the lands with the Sierra bullets.
One thing for sure this rifle does not any of the ELD, of RDF bullets. I have some Warner Flat Lines, but have not shot them yet.
I am quite pleased with the cartridge so far, and plan to take it to the CMP range at Talladega and see how it does at 600.
Your comments are most welcome.

I have no experience loading the 65 PRC but I would suggest using a powder with a slower burn rate that would be more suitable for the capacity and bore diameter of the cartidge.

Unless its a typo or the curse of auto incorrect IMR 4895 seems way to fast for that round.

I shot h4831sc with 140 eldm in my shilen 8tw, it liked them but I hit pressure before speed. 55.5 and 55.7 both had ejector swipes on 2 of 3 cases. 90° temps and hornady brass. The sd on all those loads, just 3 shot strings, was mid single digit. I moved on to h1000 and can run 3050 without pressure signs on 100° days.
