I’ve had a 6.5 saum built by area 419 with a 20” Bartlein 3b, will be used for mostly hunting and should have it this week. Will be looking at shooting 135 Berger’s and 143elds. Looking at my powder selection I’ve been told to try h4350 by a reputable shooter, but I need a starting point. No idea where to start, if it doesn’t show good accuracy I’ll move to h1000. I have 12 lbs of h4350 left and can’t use it for anything else now. Thought I’d give it a try. Looking to get 143s above the 2900 FPS mark.

Start around 52-53gr with the 135, max will be around 55.5gr.
143, start around 51gr, and 54gr should be around max.
I think it will take a miracle to get 2900 with the 143 and you barrel length. Not saying it wont work, but your case fill sucks for such an overbore rd.

Well a little update, I’ have 150 rds down the barrel, done a work up with H4350 and achieved 2910 with a 143 with good accuracy, but it’s showing Some pressure. And have since tried h1000 and I’m at 2970 with a 143 eld. And 2980 with a Berger 140 Elite hunter, with both bullets it’s consistent 3/8 moa.

How many grains under the 140?
