6.5PRC LA build questions

Trying to get the new build worked out a little late in the game but I switched gears to doing an impact LA instead of a SA.
Main questions are:
What mags do I need and what barrel freebie do I need to go with?
The intent is to run 140’s to the 156’s

Pick a cut rifled blank of your choice, with a twist rate around 1:7.75” or 1:7.5” and you should have plenty of stabilization for the 150gr+ pills.

MDT has Mags for 300 WSM / 6.5 PRC, but those are Medium Length, so not sure if they will work with your Action and Bottom Metal.
A 300 WM Mag should work, but i´m not 100% sure

Barre Freebie means Freebore, i guess ?

I’ll bet whoever chambers it can give you advice on how much free bore to run. Not sure how much there is to be gained by long loaded 6.5PRC, but I’ll be curious to see how your results turn out.

Yeah im just tied up in knots about it, I just want to be able to run the heavies but cannot seem to figure out if I can in the Short action mag feed setup which I prefer.

I think you’re fine. Berger loads factory ammo in 6.5 PRC with the 156gr:

I feed mine out of a 300WM mag seems to work good. I always tap the side like a M16 mag to make sure they are seated against the back. Thats a 153.5 Berger seated to 3.00"

I run a Hawkins Hunter DBM then their 300 WM Hunter mag with the 6.5PRC insert.

I run a 6.5 saum on a impact la and it feeds perfectly out of the Hawkins la hunter 300 win mag magazine with the spacer kit
