I am looking at a new build and am trying to decide on some of the specs. I really would like to shoot the 140gr Bergers because I am going to use it for hunting as well as 1000 yard paper/steel. The problem I am reading is that people are saying the 130s are the perfect pill for this round. If I get the rifle chambered with the 140s .010 off the lands, will I be able to get to the lands with the 130's if the 140's don't work out for me?

Re: 6.5x47 ??

Obviously, you reload. So, why not look at the 6.5 Creedmoor?
Brass costs less and it loves the 140-142 bullets.
Yes, at this time, Hornady is the only brass available. But I have found the brass to be very consistent and durable.
I have a 6.5x47, 260 and a Creedmoor. IMHO, the Creedmoor is a step up from the 6.5x47 and is at least equal to the 260 (for reloaders).
But, this has been covered in this forum more than a few times.
