6.5x55 ammo

Re: 6.5x55 ammo

I don't know if its avaible in USA or not.
But here in Sweden we buy norma factory ammo loaded with a 130 grain VLD bullet in almost 3000 fps. (Norma Diamondline Fält is the name of it)
Shoots extremely well and is sold here in scandinavia for really decent money.

Re: 6.5x55 ammo

Håkan, I have not seen the particular loading you referred to. Several Norma 6.5x55 in 130-150 gr range gave 2700-2850 fps are available in the US. Prvi is less than 1/2 of Norma' price here. For plinking it is the cheapest alternative now. There used to be plenty Sedish military surplus, and they are all gone

My eyes just about popped out of my head until I saw that they're sold in boxes of fifty...

Re: 6.5x55 ammo

Stay away from PRVI and S&B.. if you think ammo is expensive start reloading 140gn SMK on top of a healthy dose of powder take it to 840m/s and enjoy....

Anything particularly bad about PRVI or S&B? Or they aren't just as good as Lupua or Norma? Please provide specifics

I would like to learn reloading if I have time...in the future I am sure, but now I have to settle with factory ammos

Re: 6.5x55 ammo

they are very uneven and there some problems with back-burners
on S&B and almost light years apart from norma when precision counts.. here are some suggestions on what the caliber is capable of http://www.lapua.com/en/products/reloading/vihtavuori-reloading-data/relodata/5/98

the S&B and prvi is mostly used as training ammo on the short-range moving target practice (70meters) and its not very god at this..

Thank you for the pointer

I really need to start reload-It's the 11th time I told me myself that!

Probably get a few hundred rounds of Pvri to save for the shells

Re: 6.5x55 ammo

Do contemplate the Wilson tooling and a small arbor press and one good powder dispenser Redding or Harrel and a small digital scale
as range kit.. then at home a normal press to bump shoulder.. full calibrate so on .. it make life a bit simpler when you can relode at the range .. and it dont take up so much space at home..

Now I load so, here is my load:

Lapua Brass
Fed 210 primers
H4350 44.4
Norma Golden Target Bullets 130gr (same used in Norma ammo)

</div></div>

Thanks for all the leads

How's HSM compared to Lapua and Norma? I heard good words about their ammo, but 1.25/round for reload sounds pretty high.I just punch papers for fun
