6 arc through the kgm r556 heavy duty suppressor.

So i decided to go down the route of 6arc and have the kgm r556 heavy duty use suppressor, has any one used 5.56 dedicated suppressors on their 6 arcs and if so, did you see deviations in it? Also, if it’s applicable should I just get a 30 cal?
5.56 = 0.224 and 6mm = 0.243 generally speaking. 0.243 > 0.224, so as noted above likely a poor choice.

This should tell you all you need to know about this.

Except suppressor apertures aren't bored to the precise diameter of the projectiles they are designed for.

They always have a larger aperture than the designated cartridges.

Whether the OP can/should shoot a 6mm through a .223 suppressor is a discussion that he should have with the suppressor manufacturer.

Agreed 100% but I think its fairly common knowledge that most supressor companies will not warranty a strike when using an under bore suppressor as stacking tolerances between class 3A threads, muzzle device, and extenal attachment threads such as used on most muzzle devices stand a greatly increased probability of being enough out of concentricity to cause an issue. That said its the owners money so if you feel lucky go for it. Personally I buy some precision pin gauge bar stock in a length that i could accurately define the internal diameter of the baffles and make the call based on that and using an alignment rod after mountinb. As always YMMV.

That's why the OP needs to ask the manufacturer.

This is not a question for the forum. Some suppressor companies will be cool with it, others not. I don't know where KGM stands, and I'm not going to speak for them.

And you're certainly right that you diminish your odds of a good outcome when tolerance stacking potentially comes into play.

I can't imagine them saying "ok" on this. The R6 is a 6mm/223 can they make so I don't know why you'd even get a 556 can if you want to shoot both out of it. Honestly, i have 8 or maybe 9 cans and I very much doubt I will buy anything other than .30 cal, no matter what smaller caliber I intend to shoot it with. I prefer the 30 Cal to all of my 6mm or 556 cans that I have to shoot 556 of 6mm through. The only reason there is IMO to get a 6mm or 556 is the size requirements on the host weapon or use.

I bought the can on retail due to the discontinuance of them, and was intending on using it on 5.56 platform, then life hit, made some moves to accommodate the financials now I have a suppressor that isn’t used, I reached out to kgm they said to gauge it.

Oh I didn't understand you'd already bought it. Well, life happens...I get it.

In that case, get an alignment rod, gauge, and see. The end cap may be slightly different sized than the baffles, so measure them carefully and see how the rod looks. It's possible that it would clear enough but be aware that if it is, and then you change any piece involved (like the barrel or break ect), it will change the system. If it's close I'd leave it alone and save for another can. Interesting to see your findings
