6 Creedmoor 115 DTAC RBT Load Data

FWIW, I started with a 6x47 and 39.8gr of H4350, fed 205m, w/ Berger 105's giving 3,053 FPS. I would guess that if you started at 38.0gr with 115's you should be fine. Again that is an educated guess YMMV.

Can anyone attest the lot to lot consistency of the DTACs? I am wanting to shooting these out of my new 6 Creed I’m currently piecing together. It would really help the back pocket out if I could just order 1000 instead of 1500-1800 for the barrel life. But I would hate to gamble and end up having to waste more rounds on a second load development when switching lots.

There has been some inconsistency in how the meplats have been closed on the three lots I have shot. The first lot were closed very tight, the other two were more open. It affected the BC in the my testing. .620 for the first lot, .590-.600 on the other two.

Hmmm, if all else is the same, would it be worth pointing the bullets to garuntee consistency? And also potentially get a little extra BC? I know it’s an extra step in reloading but it seems like a person could set up and blow through a box of bullets pretty dang quick.

I should have put that in my post. I have been pointing the newer lots and it has helped get the BC back up. I haven't been shooting much over the past few months, but I'm about ready to start up again. I'll post BC numbers from pointed bullets with some pics when I can.

Switch to H4831SC.

40.6
0.010 off the land
115 dtac latest gen
2980 fps 3.2 SD

Are you sure you are shooting 40.6 grains under a 115 in a 6mm creedmoor?

Reason I ask is that's 1 grain more than a starting load and you should be around 44.6 to get that velocity or down in the mid 2700's at 40.6. I'm at 2950ish with 41 grains of H4350 and H4831sc always has needed around 5-10% more powder to reach the same velocity...

26" .135" freebore
40.0 grains H4350
Fed 210M
Hornady virgin brass
Seated .015" off lands
2985 fps (175 rounds on barrel)

SD/ES numbers aren't the best (sd ~8/es ~20) but I think the new brass has a lot to do with that.

I run 40.5gr and I’m getting 2975fps with DTACs
Same brass, barrel length, similar jump but CCI LRP primers

Any info/historical data on barrel life for you running there. Im at 3100f/s and thinking of pumping the brakes a little and getting down in that range.
Right now I have 1200rds down and shoots 1/4”
My buddy with the same barrel shoots them at 2950fps, and he’s at 1875rds and still shooting great (6creed)

I haven’t changed anything. I did however switch bullets to 105 Hornadys because I’m doing the 2 day max ordinate training and they shoot absolutley amazing. 41.4gr, 2.800” Hornady brass. 3100fps and SD of 3.5

Thanks for the info. Speeds holding up good at those round counts? Have you had to increased powder or chase lands?
My speeds have fluctuated 2950-2975. As I went to the range today my 100yd group is straight up dog shit, but at 300yds it’s 1”. That’s something I noticing but SDs are good and distance is accurate 🤷🏻‍♂️
