I'm researching a barreled action I'll be putting together in the spring and looking for a Rem700 footprint action with a 60° bolt throw. I know Curtis makes one but just looking to see what else is out there.
    Thanks

Besides Curtis and Terminus, GAP Tempest and Deadline Ultimatum are the only two that come to mind.

Tikka and Howa are 60deg, but aren’t Rem700 footprints
Tikka has a 70 degree. It is slightly longer than my Curtis. The handle comes up above horizontal while the Axiom bolt handle is straight out when opened.

Is the deadline a 700 drop in footprint? If I remember right with the size of the bolt the magazine height was off and needed a different inlet.

My opinion is go with the Tempest. I've owned two and had no hiccups. Fondled all of the others and I can say the Tempest is my favorite of the group.

    Curtis makes one

Looking forward to my Terminus. Hearing great things. I'm currently running a Curtis and the action itself has worked well, (smooth feel, 60deg throw, the finish, etc.) but I have had feeding issues constantly with the dasher in that action. I'm told that could be due to the size of the bolt body. Curtis has a .750 dimater bolt body while the Rem700 has a .695 Terminus is nicely in the middle of that. The larger bolt body on the Curtis has been blamed for rounds not feeding well. I'm no gunsmith so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I just received my Ultimatum Deadline barreled action this week. Initial impressions are awesome! It is a well designed product. Love the idea of interchangeable bolt face and pre-fit with a barrel nut.

Actions with larger bolts have been the cause of a lot of feeding issues. Same thing is commonly seen with Ultimatum actions, which also have a oversized bolt.

I really don't know what problems these action designers think they are solving by oversizing the bolts. They seem to only induce problems.

I currently have two tempest builds and am a massive fan of the action. If I was selecting actions for those builds again I'd probably have given the Terminus Zeus a run. I've had no issues with my builds, one action took a good few cycles to break in but both are running like glass now (Using Jewell HVR triggers). A tempest with a vector/zeus style quick change barrel feature would be my ultimate action.
